Up and Close with Sudalai Madan: Warm up

Hollywood is just a movie industry for most people, but for some like me it is life we take inspiration from it. I have watched many movies from all genres action, thriller, comedy, drama, romance.. but what I loved is controversial subject. When I traveled down south to my native for the holy festival 'Sudalaimada swamy kodai' Mikael Håfström's 1408 was in my mind. I always keep track of what I do at what time when I'm away from home in my diary. I caught this habit after maintaining the track diary when we take pilgrimage to Sabarimala.

I traveled with Athai to Thirunelveli by train we got freshed up in a hotel already booked by my Chittappa. I was happy he was there, someone who can guess what will be running in my mind. We reached Kumarapuram after going to Udhayathur soon we went to Sudalaimadan temple to see 'Paalabhisekam' then came back home. Chittappa helped me to push sometime by taking me to our ancestors home telling stories about them I wrote about this on previous article.

Then came the evening the time seriously to be watched, this might give climax like 1408 or our own 'Kandhsamy'. My eyes were all around the place looking for some clue on where to start my first page on 'God is he real'. I befriend some relatives there, one was Mr.Kumar I didn't know whether he caught my motivated eyes or just like that he said 'every powerful God, many in city don't know about Sudalaimadan. I was asking myself was this a warning? sent by Sudalaimadan himself.

My cousin is the senior priest of the shrine. He was in a trans state all day long I was there from noon almost in front of his eye, when he returned home to bath looked at me and asked 'When did you come' by then its was 7pm. So does this really works!! was he in complete outta human mode. You must know they carried big sickles and swords in hand when they danced I'm not going to experiment. The swords were really sharp, sharp enough to cut goat's head in single nice cut :O

The important ceremon started from Amman kovil, just back to my cousin home. They had all the musicians and priest assembled. Drums and band blasted the sky as the ritual started with Deepa aarathanai to Amman then my cousin came dancing out of temple with 2 lighted torch in his hand and threw one in the direction of Sudailai mada swamy kovil then transferred the other to the next ranked priest went in again came back dancing wearing flower garland reaching above his chest blocking his vision. Then musicians played high tune damaging ears for which my cousin and four more priest representing every caste in village danced. I don't exactly know why they did it but it cleared his vision :) then every priest was awarded with a torch and came around the village by midnight they reached Sudailai mada swamy temple in the middle of cemetery. Then..........

Good to know about Ancestry

Probably I would have been in black trouser and blue shirt when I last visited my native, 12 years back. All these years its been don't worry about native years because I'm in great confusion on which is my native :D So how can I relate this place to me? My Grandfather Palaniappa Pillai's hometown. My Father's Paternal Grandfather, Mr.Chokalingam pillai got settled into Kumarapuram a village next to Tisaiyanvilai, Thirunelveli.

We were the only family from upper-caste Saiva Pillai, so we received a lot of respect, the family is referred as 'Kanapillai kudumbam' and our home is referred as 'Panna veedu'. More like 90's tamil movies broadcast's when elders from my family crosses the street people used to remove slippers and keep their towel in armpit or they tie it around hip. It didn't last long just two generations :) Even now the respect has not came down but idiotic 'remove chappal' rituals are skipped.

Mr. Chokalingam Pillai had two son Mr. Muthaiya pillai, the elder son who also settled in same village to patronage the respect already established & Mr. Palaniappan pillai, the younger, my own grandfather who left the town for smooth relationship and settled in Devakottai, Ramanathapuram. But as descendants of Chokalingam pillai my father and his brother gets similar respect but not me, I'm total alien to that village.

Its time to take care

Its being 21 years since birth, my parents would ask this question when I can hardly hear them talk " Have you taken all the prescribed tablets?" I would say "yes, you gave me I had them all". With this they will not stop their care "Have this multi-vitamin tablet, this will make you healthy!!, our neighbor suggested this". Like me everyone reading might went through Multidec syrup or tablet, Calcium Sandoz, or some other thing. My friend used to have this golden yellow tablet which stinks likes rotten fish if broken, he used to call that as "meen matharai" if you are like my friend check your muscles because he is quite a giant now :)

I'm turning 22 this June and I'm Man now. Its time for me to give back as I said in article one. It time for me to give back what they showed "CARE". Its a virtual torture, imagine you finding it difficult to sleep with headache finally you forget to look at the clock and close your eyes your mom stops by and says "Have this milk and then sleep" :P. That would be terrible my friend I tell you.

Without the care we wouldn't have made it, I wouldn't have made it through. So its time you give back some you took, take care of your parents. Take them to hospital when they say they have a headache they might refuse fearing economic situation, it might be difficult to skip 'Chammak Chalo' in SS tv but do it. But once glance the situation of first time ever complaining to doctor about them, say they are skipping breakfast not showing interest in food, watching TV late night for 1970s song. Wow! Beauty isn't that, it is not all bad...

But what is funny is still I can't, in all her pain mom is asking me to wear anti-radiation specs when using PC :') Learning to take care from a person who is veteran of it...

Training @ Cognizant

I received my Date of Joining mail on 16 Oct 2011, I was so happy that finally I got that. I was the only one from my college to get the mail to report on that particular day so I went pretty much alone. I reported in MEPZ on Oct 20th from the next Monday my training began in Siruseri. I was able to spot many people who studied with me in school on the first day of Induction.

Initially I was placed in customized batch then was moved to Advance JAVA or J2EE in a generic term. I got pinned to IME vertical that handles clients related to Information, Media and Entertainment domain. We were trained in batches of 24, curse or charm I got into a batch with 20 girls! Whatever it didn't last for long, I was pretty much comfortable after getting out of it. My school was co-ed but classes were separate for boys and girls never mind 8th and 12th grades, where I was put into co-ed classes because I'm a good boy :P In college I remember studying together with girls nope remember seeing girls in my class cause they used to mug we used to bunk

Whatever I never felt comfortable with girls, good that I was put into batch of more boys at least marginally. If you were following my blogs susa360(extinct) & answer360 and my friend Vibin's privatevibin(extinct) blog you might have some reason to smile about girls :D Slowly the training began with "Dude" trainer to whom we bid adieu so that someone who really knows Oracle can teach us. Then came Sasirekha fairly fine trainer even she made us yawn for JAVA classes or is that my concentration was not there :) May be I was not there :P

Cognizant gave a new insight to life, new practices, new friends, new life, knowledge. "Ain't they colleagues" you might ask but no they are friends all freshers we never behave like morons just humans :P To be honest I even gained some new female friends not all girls behave same, I wish no girl from my college reads this :D I even volunteered for a CSR stuff they call it JA-Junior Achievement, which help in shaping up the future mind to better pick what they are going to be and study accordingly, so thereby reducing the number of engineering aspirants :P just kidding.

Reaching Siruseri from my home is a herculean task, so I took the office bus which picks me up from Chromepet GST road to office and drops me back to same location. Wires can help anyone push the one hour and fifteen minute by taking you to trans-music world. I practiced it for sometime didn't work for me got my headset torn :( so I worked on relationships :) made new friends found companion. Was little life journey taking me to new world, professional world. Some nice little breeze from Pallavaram - Thoraipakkam Highroad have always begged to slow down the bus.

Here we had some exams to clear before getting into business, its was never a problem because papers! they help. Its more like a Q&A book which made many Anna University students as Engineers, they even existed in corporate :D Wonder what I even topped in a paper but that's the only subject for which I did study only using official materials.

I can't stop writing myself about the first month salary and the new joy of spending own money. Actually I received my first month salary in second month :P weird! not so for me because I choose an International banker I had to deal with that. I planned to buy new clothes for my family including Caesar, a collar for him. Parents they always see you like child, permission denied :( so all that I bought was a silver coin and sweets, but it also made me feel well :) Good thing they didn't restrict me from using Debit card asked not to spend much, they never check account the trust worked I didn't spend much, except for the new culture's treats :)

Even though the training concentrates on Technology, Vertical, Horizontal, Domain, Client Satisfaction, Peer, Team work, Leadership and some more words which can possibly send your head in spin, I learnt many things but not any of the above. It provided us a platform to work, it taught us how we can possibly work. It showed some people with great knowledge and attitude and asked us to be them with no choice...
